Newtek, along with the lending community, anticipates further changes to existing SBA guidance on the PPP forgiveness process. Please note that you are not subject to any forgiveness application filing deadlines at the present time. As you may be aware, the SBA’s guidance includes certain provisions that require further clarification. Our commitment to you is to provide clear and substantive direction as it becomes available.

Two important things to note: 

1. Your loan payment deferment has been extended from 6 months to 10 months after the end of your loan forgiveness covered period. If you apply now and the SBA determines a balance will remain on your loan, payment will commence immediately and you forfeit any remaining deferment period.
2. Having said that, you are not subject to any deadlines for forgiveness application filing at this time.
